A Weekend in Austin with Uber at Uber Radio Live

October 10, 2018

Austin City Limits (ACL) music festival is a must-do for us each year! We see some of our favorite bands, discover new music, and explore the very #instaworthy experiences on the grounds.

This year, there was a must-stop for us along with fellow music fans on our way to ACL: Uber Radio Live. We called our Uber to go to ACL (the official ride partner) and included a stop to Barton Springs Saloon. We knew what we would find there - a live music stage imagined as a giant car radio - yet did not know how epic this interactive experience would be until being a part of it ourselves!

So what was going on with the giant car radio live music stage?! We heard ACL artists’ songs being played in new ways, and local Austin Uber driver-partners performing their original music! Also, the audience drove the playlist and could request songs. We requested our jam What About Us by P!nk (and are listening to it again now, as we remember the fun memory!).

This was a great additional stop for festival-goers like ourselves, as well as an option for music fans who were not actually attending ACL. Also, it was special for the several local Uber driver-partners who got the chance to take the stage and perform! Kudos to Uber for putting their driver-partners “in the front seat” in a new way by inviting them to be front and center on-stage to show off their passion, creativity and talent.

We keep a running list of cool, free experiences in Austin during ACL and are adding this one to it so we can, hopefully, check it out again next year!
