The 5 Coziest Bars with a Fireplace
November 12, 2018
BY DIANA OATES
When temps dip below…let’s say 65 degrees…Texans are scrambling trying to find a cozy bar to post up by the fire. I know, I know, but it’s totally true. And whether it’s the dim lighting or the crackling of the fire that gives us all the feels, there is really nothing like a bar that makes you feel like you are sitting on the couch at a swanky friend’s house. Am I right? Here are the best bars in town that just so happen to have amazing fireplaces.
veritas wine room
This cozy Henderson Avenue wine bar is an ideal place to wind down after a long day at work. Grab one of their 30 plus wines by the glass and split a charcuterie board with a pal and get that good girl talk in. The stone fireplace is just icing on the cake on an already relaxed happy hour.

The Kennedy room
This laid-back Uptown bar is nestled in a quiet corner and serves up a mean Sweet Jackie Spritz with champagne, gin, triple sec, and lime. Grab a friend on a cold afternoon and warm up by the fire during the bar’s happy hour Tuesday-Saturday from 4:30-6:30 which features $5 wine and champagne by the glass.

the mansion bar
It’s hard to beat an evening in this uber-regal resting place in the midst of the Dallas hustle and bustle. Grab a Mansion G&T and an order of truffle fries and relax as Hunter Sullivan or some other classic crooner serenades the intimate crowd posted up fireside. This is NYC’s classic Bemelmans Bar’s Texas twin, and we are continuous smitten by its sophistication.

The French room bar
This sultry superstar is by far my favorite fireplace in downtown Dallas. Whether you are grabbing pre-dinner drinks before dining at The French Room or City Hall or just looking for a high-end cocktail and some cozy conversation, your friends will be giving you some serious praise for picking this place.

Katy trail icehouse
The great thing about Texas is there’s always the opportunity to be outside, even in the dead of winter. It’s hard for Texans to bid farewell to their patio bars for a few months, so instead, the patio bars adapt to the season. One of our favorite places to bundle up by a fire, outside, is none other than Dallas institution, Katy Trail Ice House. And they have an expansive new patio allowing for plenty more fires, benches and blankets!
