The 5 Shows to See this Spring
With Dallas’s beautiful weather and plentiful restaurants and bars, it can be easy to forget about our amazing arts scene here. But Dallas does have a blossoming and impressive scene,, offering us constant opportunity to consume via plays, operas, musicals, ballets and more! With Spring in full force, you can expect a full roster of great shows to catch. We’ve picked out five performances we are most looking forward to catching!
The Island of Skog
Dallas Children’s Theater
Named one of the Top 5 Theaters for Children in the Country, by Time Magazine, you might not have known this nationally-recognized gem even existed in Dallas, but it does, and it produces some wonderfully entertaining shows for every age, while bridging together the local community of creatives! The mission? To engage and inspire children and produce theater that reaches beyond the stage.
And right now, the Dallas Children’s Theater is gearing up for its next production: The Island of Skog, based off the book by Steven Kellogg, that involves mice, cats, humans, adventures and more in this “delightfully charming and gentle story that brings to life the author's beloved illustrations and characters.”

Cruel Intentions: The 90’S Musical
The cult classic 90’s film, Cruel Intentions, is BACK in full musical form! The story follows that of both the French book the movie was based off of, as well as the film itself. However, this production turns it up a notch by featuring some of our favorite 90’s songs and artists including Brittney Spears, NSYNC and Christina Aguilera.
Bonus: join us on the evening of Friday May 24 for a Ladies’ Night Out and watch our Instagram for ticket giveaways!

Texas Ballet Theater
Relive one of your favorite childhood Disney movies as a ballet this Spring at the beautiful Winspear Opera House! You’ll enjoy live music by the Dallas Opera Orchestra while the Texas Ballet Theater puts on the production. Last year, we saw Cinderella and it was a beautiful performance, and unique to see the story come to life in a different setting!

The Dallas Opera
This opera, written by Verdi, brings Shakespeare’s Sir John Falstaff to life! The opera is sung in Italian with English supertitles. The plot? Falstaff “decides to turn his fortunes around by scamming two married women with identical love letters, hoping that at least one of them falls for his ploy and shares her husband's fortune. Unfortunately, things don't quite go to plan, and he's thwarted by the merry wives of Windsor at every turn, who on discovering his duplicity decide to get some revenge!”
