JUNE 24, 2019
BY LILY KRAMLICH-TAYLOR
While we know that a lot of people will be escaping Dallas on the Fourth of July for the mountains or ocean, if you are thinking that sticking around Dallas equates to a lamer holiday, think again! Just as the saying goes, everything is done a bit bigger here, and you are sure to find some magnificent displays of patriotism and fireworks here! And we have listed out the top 5 parties or shows to check out over the Fourth!
Addison kaboom town
Addison’s Kaboom Town is a staple in the community, and also known nationally, for its extremely impressive fireworks show! This party has been around for three decades, and offers a full day of activities. Arrive early to grab a spot on the lawn and have fun with an air show, midway, live music, food and drinks and more! The fireworks take place at 9:30 pm and an after party show with Emerald City Band takes place at 10 pm!

Red, white and boom
Our skyline is already impressive in its own right, but throw in fireworks set high above over our skyscrapers and Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, and you have a beautiful sight to behold! And you can be right in the middle of all of it as the Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge becomes one big viewing party! Come early, beginning at 6 pm to stake out a spot and enjoy some food and drinks!

Fourth on the midway
Head to Fair Park on the actual Fourth of July for a “mini-fair” as you enjoy the midway full of games and foods, along with a spectacular fireworks show set above the beautiful Art Deco landscape of Fair Park! The event is free to attend, but Midway tickets for rides must be purchased. And the Midway opens at noon so you can have a full day of fun before fireworks-time.

Grapevine’s July 4th Extravaganza
In its 37th year, Grapevine is excited to invite you back out to a 26-minute fireworks show over Lake Grapevine! We haven’t timed the other fireworks shows on this list yet, but we can probably guess that is a pretty long time! And they claim that this year’s show will be “the biggest ever.” You can also head there early to enjoy a slew of activities including an interactive Pirate themed science exhibit!
