Have you visited Atwater Alley yet!? We recently revisited this speakeasy and were reminded that it is truly one of the coolest spots in Dallas! It’s also one of the most hidden, located in Atwater Alley, literally, behind Henry's Majestic in Knox!

Updated December 2021

The Atwater Alley speakeasy is a tiny, two-floor extension of Henry’s Majestic and has been secretly serving up professionally crafted cocktails since 2015. Walk through an unassuming alley and spot the two “A” markings at the speakeasy door so be careful not to miss it! If you’re not feeling adventurous you can also ask to access AA from the inside of Henry’s Majestic!

The cozy den is dimly lit and has a very illicit feel to it as soon as you enter the Victorian style room. The decor brings antiquity to the space with their elegant, tin-tiled ceiling and velvet wallpaper which you’ll notice as you make your way up the second floor of the moody bar. You’ll truly feel like you’ve been transported back to the 20’s and just found a totally off the beaten path place, that’s beaming with energy and people.

Complimenting the low key vibe, AA doesn’t offer an official drink menu but you can request classic cocktails like an Old Fashioned or a Manhattan. You’re also encouraged to share your cocktail preferences like “fruity” or “sweet” with the bartender so they can curate a creative concoction for you! You can also enjoy a variety of provisions sourced from Henry’s Majestic, such as meat and cheese boards, oysters, and housemade onion dip!

The lowkey bar is open Wednesday to Sundays from 8pm-2am. It pulls in a fun and diverse crowd, and is usually packed on late weekend nights so get there early or expect a wait to enter as there’s only seating for about 40-50 people in the entire attic-like establishment.
