INTERO
Created by husband & wife duo, Chef Ian Thurwachter & Chocolatier/Pastry Chef Krystal Craig. Intero pairs delicious, savory Italian cuisine with sweet house-made and handcrafted desserts.The Italian word Intero translates to “whole,” to emphasize the ideology of using whole, local ingredients.
Start off with a spuntini (or snack) of sourdough focaccia with house-made ricotta or the gulf snapper crudo. We enjoyed the wood oven roasted cauliflower that was perfectly paired with pistachio, mint and house-made yogurt and charred cabbage with spicy mustard and reginella cheese! The hand-made pasta is a must and the rich, creamy bucatini was some of the best we’ve had. And to finish, there are artisan truffles with flavors like chai tea and peanut butter honey!

Featuring a well-rounded list of cocktails and an abundance of wine! For us, the “back to your roots” stood out flavor wise and on the presentation front. A unique blend of beet, balsamic and honey with a bit of a smokey flare from the mezcal and tequila! Select from a plethora of wines by the glass or bottle!
THE SPACE
The charming ambiance is almost as captivating as the high-quality dishes themselves. In typical Austin fashion, the decor is urban and rustic with wooden accents and cozy elements, with the pizza oven as the main focus. The inviting outdoor space with heaters, fans and glowy string lighting will be where we sit next time…because there will absolutely be a next time!

They are open for Valentine’s featuring an Amari & Chocolate pairing flight and their normal, exquisite menu (no prix fixe!) Open everyday of the week except Monday and Tuesday, with happy hour on Wednesday and Thursday 5 - 6:30PM featuring $2 off ALL pizzas, craft cocktails and wine by the glass!
