ABIDE WOMEN'S HEALTH SERVICES

Abide Women’s Health Services aims to improve birth outcomes in communities with the lowest quality of health care. South Dallas has the highest infant mortality, maternal mortality, low birth weight, and preterm birth statistics in Dallas. Due to the lack of adequate healthcare in South Dallas, Abide offers childbirth education, prenatal appointments, doula referrals, postpartum doula support, drop-in breastfeeding education, and essential items for mothers.

Due to COVID-19 social distancing guidelines, Abide Women’s Health Services shifted their education programs online. Additionally, they began a contactless method of distributing essential items to mothers to limit the spread of COVID-19. They need continued funding to provide essential products to families, and to provide prenatal and postnatal care for mothers, and to train postpartum doulas.
