Near Cedar Hill, this local favorite is great for swimming, boating, & paddleboarding with marinas like Lynn Creek Marina & plenty of lakeside parks.
LAKE LEWISVILLE
A North Texas classic with tons of space for boating, kayaking, swimming, & more. Hidden Cove Marina makes it easy to rent & launch for the day.
LAKE RAY HUBBARD
With marinas like Captains Cove and Chandlers Landing, plus waterfront dining at The Harbor Rockwall, this lake is perfect for everything from casual cruises to sunset sails.

CEDAR CREEK LAKE
An hour south of DFW, Cedar Creek is the 4th largest lake in Texas, perfect for boating, fishing, & lakeside stays. Think RV parks, cabins, live music, & even air shows.
CYPRESS SPRINGS LAKE
This smaller, scenic lake has six shoreline parks, swim beaches, $2 day access, & an annual 4th of July fireworks show. Great for fishing, especially with kids.
GRAPEVINE LAKE
An 8,000-acre lake with trails, camping, glow paddling, & even a floating waterpark. Rockledge Park is a great spot for lakeside views & swimming.
LAKE RAY ROBERTS
Just north of Denton, this peaceful lake has hiking, horseback riding, & a beachy vibe. Isle Du Bois is a fave, with boat ramps & $7 day passes.
