Freddo opened at the end of 2021 as Austin’s newest destination for Greek inspired coffee, breakfast pastries, beer and wine, and incredible indoor and outdoor space. We were so excited to try it…plus, we love a destination on South Congress with decent parking!

Updated February 2022

This Victorian 2 story house was home to Walter Tips, who served in the State Senate from 1893 to 1896! The house was originally built in 1876, but underwent a remodel in 1909 to its present appearance! The house was originally located west of downtown Austin. It was scheduled for teardown in 1975, but was saved by Franklin Savings Association and moved to its current location at South Congress and Oltorf!

The victorian mansion has large spaces on both floors to dine and gather, as well as small, quiet rooms to work or study. Quant corners to read by yourself and larger tables to mingle with friends, coworkers and classmates! The cozy chairs, fireplaces, and chandeliers make it truly feel like an extension of your home and the old staircase + wallpaper transport you to the 1900s! Outside you find a grand space with picnic tables and heaters perfect for sipping your cup of Joe or enjoying happy hour wine + apps!

The menu is rather extensive featuring all-day breakfast items, lunch paninis, salads, and flatbreads, Greek inspired appetizers and savory and sweet treats like Spanakopita and Baklava! Or get a cheese or charcuterie board with Antonelli's Cheese goods! Since we went in the morning, we opted for the Bacon + Egg Sandwich and an Apple Danish!

Get the coffee + tea classics - espresso, americano, cappuccinos, lattes! Or get it Freddo style and transport to Greece! The wine selection is remarkable with good price points and many different blends! Ideal for outdoor sipping under the heaters or an afternoon splurge (it’s never too early for wine!)

Also, you must stop in for their excellent happy hour everyday Monday-Friday from 3PM to 6PM offering $1 off beer, $2 off wine, and deals on food!
