You may have heard of Mellow Mushroom, a national pizza franchise with a cult following, fresh ingredients, and chill 70s vibes! We've been hearing more about this spot lately and are sharing all the deets, plus where to find the four Mellow Mushroom locations around Dallas!

MELLOW MUSHROOM
This pizza spot has been ‘keeping it mellow since 1974’, and has embraced the hippie culture through the years! They’re known for serving fresh, stone-baked pizzas to order in an eclectic, art-filled, and family-friendly environment. Though the chain isn’t native to Dallas, each restaurant is locally owned and operated!

THE SPACE
Stepping inside Mellow Mushroom feels a bit like walking into an episode of That 70s Show! Each restaurant is decked out in vibrant colors, elaborate murals, and tons of retro details scattered throughout. Most of the art pieces are cheeky nods to 70s culture like tie dye, lava lamps, peace signs, mushrooms, flying carpets and more. They also feature art from local artists!
Fun fact: Each restaurant actually has a theme! Take a road trip through time in McKinney, visit the traditional haciendas in Fort Worth, or find where East Asian art meets West Texas cowboys in Denton!
PIZZA
The main event here is definitely the pizza! All of their pies are made with quality ingredients -- especially the dough, which is made with spring water, unbleached white flour, and contains no refined sugar. Order your choice of “Classic” Crust or Mellow “Thin” Crust, which both come basted with garlic butter and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Our fave pizzas include the Holy Shiitake Pie with garlic, truffle, caramelized onions, and of course, tons of mushrooms, or the Kosmic Karma with feta, mozzarella, spinach, fresh and sun-dried tomatoes, topped with pesto. You can also build your own pizza!

While known for their pizzas, Mellow Mushroom also offers tons of other delicious eats! Start your meal with 'Munchies' like wings, pretzel bites, spinach and artichoke dip, meatballs, and more. They also offer calzones, hoagies, salads, and even burgers!
If you're vegan or gluten-free, this spot has some groovy options! They offer separate gluten-free and vegan menus, plus plenty of clearly marked options throughout the menu. They're super flexible and can modify several of their menu items including their pizzas to fit your dietary restrictions!
FROM THE BAR
Mellow out with a cocktail or mocktail made with fresh ingredients! Everything made behind the bar contains no premade blends, no artificial additives, and no preservatives! Their cocktails feature classic sips, plus some fun new creations. We recommend the Lemon Submarine made with bourbon, elderflower liqueur, house-made sour, iced tea, rosemary and earl grey bitters. They also offer a few mocktails if you're looking for a non-alcoholic option! Each restaurant also has a different selection of local beers on tap!
