Talk about sensory meets relaxation overload! The Korean spa Spa Castle has been on our list since we posted about its competition a few years ago. The comments debated which was the best, with the consensus leaning to Spa Castle. So we made our way over to Carrollton to check it out and had the most fun and relaxing time! Make sure to block off enough time for your visit as you could spend the whole day here!

Spa Castle is a four-floor, 100,000 sq ft mega-spa complex that offers a myriad of ways to relax and treat your body. It opened in 2012 and aims to combine the best of traditional Asian + European spas.

Arrival

It’s $50 per person on weekends, $40 per person on weekdays, and kid friendly with special pricing. A digital bracelet will let you into the lockers and act as a credit card to purchase food, drinks, and treatments. You get two (very small) towels with your entry, so we’d recommend bringing your own along with some easy clothes to throw on as the upper floors are “dry.” In the locker rooms, there’s a nude bath area with dry and wet saunas, four heated mineral pools, a cold bath, and scrub and massage services!

SPA TREATMENTS

Take the stress off with one of their six massage offerings, including a deep tissue massage! You can also enjoy hand and foot reflexology, Korean body scrubs, and facials. Or if you're looking for a quiet place to snooze, the Ondol Sleeping Area has heated floors with wooden head rests for you to enjoy. Ondol rooms are common in Asian spas and offer a warm space to lie as you venture in and out of saunas. Also, the locker room has large couches and a TV, making for another great space to nap or relax in between spa treatments.

HYDROTHERAPY BADE POOLS

Grab your swimsuit and head outside to the main pool, where anyone can congregate. There are several hot tubs and pools, both indoor and outdoor, and there’s a bar, where you can order a cocktail to pair with your experience. Each pool has strategically placed jets with various benefits such as targeting pressure points, increasing circulation, smoothing muscle aches, and more. There are five pools plus a kiddie pool, so you can definitely find exactly what you're looking for!

Sauna Valley

Dry off and head upstairs to the 10 different saunas, each with different healing effects! Three of the ten are infrared saunas, serving different purposes. Try the gold room to reinvigorate your energy, the charcoal tower to extract toxins and kill bacteria, or the Himalayan salt room to help relieve allergies and soften skin.

Dining & Nightlife

On the second floor, find a Japanese restaurant serving sushi and sashimi. If you visit from between 5 PM and 12 AM Sun-Thurs or 1 AM on weekends, you can visit the 4th floor Mystic Penthouse Bar. They frequently host events like ladies nights and drag shows! And if you visit at night, you can still enjoy the pools!
