As we remember September 11th, 2001, we wanted to highlight a few veteran and first-responder-owned businesses around Dallas. Check out the list below and support those who have served all year round!

Updated September 2023

Black Rifle Coffee Company

Founded in 2014, this coffee shop is both veteran-owned and operated! Their stores across DFW and across the nation are even committed to hiring 10,000 veterans, to provide opportunities to those who served. They offer high-quality grounds and pods in dozens of flavors, and if you aren't sure which coffee is for you, they even offer a coffee matching quiz to help you decide!

Ebb & Flow

Ebb & Flow

This stunning upscale restaurant is owned by a former Coast Guard member! They're known for being Instagrammable with a gorgeous floral installation at both locations, but the food and drinks are also a must-try. We love their brunch menu and craft cocktails like the White Peach Rosé, and their pizzas are good any time of day!

Fire Grounds Coffee Company

This coffee company was founded by a former Marine who also serves as a paramedic and firefighter! Founder Paul Clarke's idea started on a late night at the fire station, and the idea followed him while he was deployed in Iraq, where he and other service members brainstormed the idea constantly. Today, you can find whole beans and ground available online, and even purchase some for DFW firefighters through their Caffinate-A-Station program.

This no-frills coffee shop was created with the goal of making craft coffee approachable to not just veterans, but everyone! On their menu, you'll find quality classics like drip coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, and more. The founder says that his time in the military definitely influenced the menu, keeping it no-frills and straightforward. They also do a military discount!

Rakkasan Tea Company

This veteran-owned tea spot is one worth supporting! The name Rakkasan came from co-founders Brandon Friedman and Terrence Kamauf, and was the nickname of their unit in the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division. They often drank tea provided by locals overseas, and decided to open this tea shop to highlight and support post-combat economies. Check them out for ethically sourced teas from all over the world!
