A few years ago, there seemed to be limited wine bars to choose from in Dallas. We are so thankful that’s no longer the case! Whether you’re in need of a girls night, a date night with tapas and wine, or just love experiencing cozy wine bars with flavors from around the world, there’s a wine bar for you!

If you like the vibe of Leela’s Wine Bar on Lower Greenville, you’ll like Trova too: modern and feminine! Trova Wine + Market opened in Preston Center in 2020 and it’s the most precious and aesthetically pleasing restaurant! With rows of wine filling the wall, pink velvet chairs lining the bar, images of Instagramable places like Palm Springs hanging on the walls, and a pink and teal color palette, we wanted to move in! Enjoy a glass of local Rose Gold Wine or choose another from their list of 20 wines by the glass. And pair it with their amazing charcuterie board!

One of our favorite places for a date night or girls' night is the cozy tapas + wine bar on Henderson Avenue, Barcelona Wine Bar! With hanging lights and vintage chairs and tables, it’s one of the most romantic patios we’ve seen in Dallas. You’ll truly feel like you’ve escaped to Spain. Which makes it perfect for sipping on fresh sangria or one of their 40 wines by the glass or 400 from a bottle. In fact, Barcelona Wine Bar also has one of the largest wine programs in the US with an extensive collection from Spain and South America.

Another super hidden treasure, Bodega is a wine bar that has insanely high ratings, and is very much “locals-only.” It is probably one of the most expensive places on this list. Why? Because you go for the selection of fine wines. This is for the true wine aficionados! Also, it exudes old-world romantic vibes so a great spot to take someone and impress them with your knowledge of off-the-beaten-path places!

Like any great wine bar, Burgundy Swine offers wines from well-known wine regions of the world and also emerging regions. In total, there are 50 wine-by-the-glass offerings, including local brand Rose Gold Wine, and we recommend ordering one of their 10 different wine flights that range in price from $14-$39 and come with 3 wines. The pours are generous and a flight is a great excuse for striking up a conversation with the bartender and learning new, interesting wine facts.

Did someone say “chocolate”?! And “wine”?! And “jazz”?! Chocolate Secrets has all three! This place has amazing and beautiful chocolates, an art gallery, and weekly programs like jazz and open mic nights. Chocolate Secrets is a great place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or just go hang out for a great experience. They’re located right on the corner of Oak Lawn and Avondale, so you can’t miss it.

Leela’s is one of the cutest wine bars around, with a feminine atmosphere, Beverly Hills-inspired patio, and seasonal pop-ups! Stop by for $7 house wine happy hour during the week or half-priced Rosé all day on Wednesdays!

This one-part wine bar, one-part wine store in Bishop Arts was voted the Best New Wine Bar of 2018 from our reader poll! Head to Neighborhood Cellar for an extremely knowledgeable staff offering advice for both wine to purchase for a specific event or meal or gift, or sit down and enjoy a flight, along with some cheese! You can even sit out on the patio and enjoy the Bishop Arts vibes. Lastly, make sure to check their event schedule online as they frequently host fun things like Wine 101!

If you want a side of dinner with your glass of wine, check out Sixty Vines! The new Uptown location in the Crescent is really walkable, and offers, well, sixty wines on tap! They have even perfected the wine cocktail so you can have some favorite drinks like a Bloody Mary or margarita, made with wine! And then, of course, you can order pizza, pasta, or a selection of apps to accompany you. This is also the wine spot to go to for big groups and to sip on Rose Gold Wine on tap!

This spot may not look like much on the outside, but it’s a Dallas staple that you don’t want to miss! If weeknights are an option for you, make sure you go on a Wednesday; they offer a three-course menu with half of any bottle of wine! They’re also open for brunch every Sunday from 10:30-2:30 and have live piano music. You can find St. Martin’s on Lower Greenville, a couple of blocks north of Halcyon, and Stan’s Blue Note.

STONEY’S WINE LOUNGE

Stoney’s is right by The Wine Therapist, located on Oram Street. It’s a very different vibe, however; unlike the quaint and cozy vibe at The Wine Therapist, Stoney’s is big, open, and has a patio! What makes Stoney’s different? If you’re a wine expert with no room to store your bottles, Stoney’s offers storage for your wine! You can pay yearly or monthly. Additionally, they offer wine gift baskets as well as cellar consultations.

THE ALCOVE

This wine bar is so hidden, you have maybe driven by it dozens of times without noticing! It’s tucked away in State Allen, with a comfy living room set up, and really amazing coffee too. And what’s really cool is they specialize in small production, family-owned wineries so a lot of what you can find there, you can’t find anywhere else!

THE WINE THERAPIST

The Wine Therapist is a wine merchant and tasting room concept located on Skillman. The idea behind The Wine Therapist is to balance work and leisure, and to have a place to escape “the urban jungle.” Whether you want to come to grab a bottle of wine to go, or you want to sit and have conversations with other wine connoisseurs, The Wine Therapist is your place!

This is one of the coolest places I’ve been in Dallas. They have their own vineyard located 18 miles south of Alpine, Texas. From the outside, this big gray building doesn’t look like much, but once you walk in, you know it’s something different! It’s located in Lakewood and has a huge patio, a tasting room, and a lounge.

Yes, the name is a little cheesy, yes it’s located next to Buffalo Wild Wings, and yes, the interior is a bit outdated. But is it one of the best places to find a great selection of wine? That’s also a BIG yes! Read the reviews and you’ll instantly want to make the trip. People rave about how amazing the staff and owner are, and they are constantly hosting events from 1/2 price Mondays to wine tastings to Champagne Fridays!
