MEET THE CO-FOUNDERS
Hey! We’re Kara and Lily, the co-founders of Dallasites101. We started with the spirit of ‘go big or go home’ and quite literally, as two transplants trying to figure out a new city and find our place in it. We fell head over boots in love with Dallas fast, but we also realized something: just because you live somewhere doesn’t mean you automatically feel like you belong.
TURNING BELONGING INTO A BUSINESS
In 2015, Kara had an idea to create a resource that helped people not just navigate a new city, but truly feel at home. Lily’s passion for discovery and love of building something from the ground up made her the perfect partner!
And just like that, the “Dallasites Duo” was born! Or as we called ourselves in our original IG bio, “2 girls from 2 coasts making the most of life in the Big D.”
10 YEARS LATER?
What we didn’t know at the time? That partnership would grow into a 10-year business and counting, one we still co-lead today with the same drive and passion as when we first started! And our team would grow from 2 to 25 - plus countless contractors, interns and past team members who have contributed towards building the brand too!
