AKIRA BACK

Born in Korea and raised in Colorado, Michelin Star Chef Akira Back is known for his award-winning restaurants that span across the globe from Paris, Singapore, Dubai and beyond! Fun fact - before becoming a chef he was a professional snowboarder!

His newest location of his namesake restaurant, Akira Back, has landed at Grandscape in The Colony and serves up a menu of innovative Japanese dishes with Korean influences.

MENU

The menu features a mix of cold and hot dishes meant for sharing! You’ll also find sushi, sashimi and a special A5 Wagyu which is served and flamed tableside!

For cold dishes, try their signature AB tuna pizza and whitefish crudo. For hot dishes, find rock shrimp tempura, grilled octopus and wagyu short rib. You can’t forget about the sushi which features some unique options, like one topped with poprock candy!

Finish your meal with the chocolate cigar dessert that comes served table side in a cigar box!

COCKTAILS

Pair your dinner with one of their creative cocktails like the ryūkyu margarita that is rimmed with black salt and topped with a charred pepper! We also loved the lychee elderflower martini and of course sake for an authentic experience!

SPACE

When you arrive you’ll be greeted with a colorful mural out front that continues inside with several pops of art and color throughout the space. Enjoy your meal in the dining room or pull up a chair at the sushi bar and watch their talented chefs handroll your sushi!

When the weathers nice, head to the patio for a more casual vibe that looks out onto a pond and is beautiful at sunset!
