If you’ve walked past the former Kaiyo space lately and noticed a name change, meet Mizu! We popped in out of curiosity and ended up staying for the omakase!

MIZU
Mizu Sushi & Handroll Bar comes from chef Roy Ahn, a longtime Dallas sushi veteran behind spots like Kome, Little Katana, Sushi Zen, and Otaru! The space will feel familiar if you’ve been to Kaiyo, but with a noticeable upgrade at the sushi bar! The seating has been updated so you can watch the chefs at work, which we loved! We went early, and the sushi bar was already full and lively, with people chatting, making friends, and joking with the chefs!

THE MENU
If the menu looks familiar, that’s because it’s the same lineup from Kome Sushi! You can order their omakase if you want, but you can also sit at the bar and order à la carte! Everything we tried was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and you truly can’t go wrong! What we ordered:
🦀 Spider roll with fried soft shell crab
🍣 Toro hand roll
🍣 Chu toro nigiri
✨ Uni nigiri
🐟 Sicilian seabass special
They have a ton of great cocktails too and if you’re skipping alcohol you have to try the yuzu honey tea, we truly dream about it it's so good.
