One of Mexico’s greatest artists and one of the world’s most famous painters, Frida Kahlo is known for her self portraits, themes of the identity, human body, death, and her traditional Mexican wardrobe. And the Dallas Museum of Art is celebrating this beloved icon via a special 3-month exhibit that opened last week!

FRIDA: BEYOND THE MYTH
From August 18th through November 17th, “Meet Frida as she saw herself.” Explore 60 paintings, drawings, prints, and photos, both by Frida and by others who knew her the best, as you learn about who Frida was and what her defining life moments were.
STAND OUT MOMENTS
We just went through the exhibit ourselves, and as Frida admirers, we loved learning about her life from start to end, both from her own perspective and others.
You’ll see some of her paintings, including one of her famous self-portraits with a monkey.
You’ll also see some of the most famous photographs taken of Frida, by her lover Nikolas Murray.

No matter what you're interested in, there's truly something for everyone at the museum! We could seriously spend all day here.
VISITING THE DMA
