Thankfully, our generous city is home to a wide network of food pantries and mobile distribution sites, offering a variety of locations and services to help neighbors access nutritious groceries and support. Several local restaurants have also stepped up to offer free meals to those in need! Explore the list below.

FOOD PANTRIES

North Texas Food Bank
The North Texas Food Bank is dedicated to serving the community through various networks of pantry partners across the metroplex, making it easy to find the closest location using their map and zip code tool on the website.
During the recent government shutdown, they have partnered with Dallas College at the Brookhaven, West Dallas, and North Lake campuses to provide food assistance for federal employees and others living or working near DFW or Love Field airports, every Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Catholic Charities Dallas
Catholic Charities Dallas operates a network of food pantries and mobile distribution sites across the nine-county Dallas region, providing nutritious groceries to communities throughout the metroplex. Online, they offer an updated monthly schedule listing mobile pantry dates and times, along with a schedule covering five fixed pantry locations, each with varying hours and eligibility guidelines based on zip code, but all dedicated to serving those in need.

Empowering the Masses - Community Market
Open Tuesday through Thursday from 10:30am to 2pm, this CommUNITY Market welcomes residents from ALL zip codes to shop for nutritious groceries, by appointment, up to twice per month. They also host a weekly drive-through market every Saturday from 8am to 10pm. Be sure to call or email ahead to schedule your shopping appointment!

Seven Loaves Food Pantry
Seven Loaves, powered by The Storehouse Community Center, is a food pantry offering multiple appointment options throughout the month, open to everyone, regardless of zip code. Their goal is to provide fresh produce, canned vegetables, rice, beans, pasta, frozen meats, and fresh dairy, while doing their best to accommodate any dietary restrictions. Make sure to register your appointment online and your registration will allow you to visit up to twice a month!

Tarrant Area Food Bank
The Tarrant Area Food Bank distributes to a network of pantry partners across 13 counties in the DFW area, helping connect individuals and families to essential local food resources. Be sure to use their “Find Food” tool on the TAFB website to locate a pantry near you, and always call ahead to confirm hours before visiting!
The Salvation Army of North Texas
With 13 food pantries across the DFW area from Denton to Fort Worth, The Salvation Army is working to alleviate hunger in our community through convenient drive-through and curbside food pantry options. Each location offers essential groceries and pantry staples to help meet your family’s basic needs. We encourage you to visit their website and call your nearest location to confirm hours of operation and availability before visiting.

The Fort Worth HOPE Center
“Fights Hunger, Feeds Hope” perfectly reflects the mission of the Fort Worth HOPE Center, which is dedicated to serving the community by providing weekly food baskets designed to feed a family of four. The pantry is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 9am to 12pm. Remember to bring a photo ID and proof of residency, and they will ensure you leave with a little “extra” so that everyone leaves with more than enough, empowering everyone to become givers themselves!
