FORT WORTH JAPANESE GARDEN

The Fort Worth Japanese Garden is located inside the Fort Worth Botanic Garden and features 7.5 acres of stunning and peaceful scenery. Stroll through the garden that consists of cherry trees, Japanese maples, magnolias, bamboo and more than 1,000 Koi fish!

Fun fact: There are few flowers blooming in the garden except in the Spring due to the practice of Mono no Aware. In Japanese Mono no Aware means bittersweet beauty and suggests that if the garden was always blooming it would’t be special when it is!

THE STUDY

An environmental non-profit, Earth.fm recently did a study where they ranked cities by noise level. They found 6.1% of Fort Worth residents are exposed to high noise levels throughout the day, making it the 27th-noisiest city in the country.

Next they looked at 3,000 parks, nature preserves and gardens across more than 200 cities worldwide and gave each park a quiet score. Fort Worth’s Japanese Garden got a quiet score of 8.7, making it the 7th quietest spot in the U.S and the most peaceful in Texas!
