If you haven’t checked out Velcrokid in Lewisville yet, this is your sign! This part vending machine café part designer toy shop feels straight out of Japan. Opened in December, this spot is the brainchild of Eric Bowman, who wanted to create a beacon for the arts and a gathering space for creatives in the ‘burbs.

VELCROKID

Inspired by the popular vending machine cafés you’ll find all over Japan (but rarely in Dallas), Velcrokid features walls lined with boutique vending machines holding a curated mix of drinks, snacks, ramen, and sweets from Emporium Pies, Edison Coffee Co, Hoshi Japanese Sweets, and even ice cream! On weekends, keep an eye out for freshly stocked onigiri, which usually sells out fast!

But it’s not just about the food– Velcrokid also features collectible art toys from brands like 3DRetro, 100% Soft, Medicom, and Super7, making it a treasure trove for toy collectors and pop culture lovers.
