Calling all music lovers and vinyl collectors! North Dallas is home to one of the largest independent record stores in the US, Josey Records! When we were out driving around the other week we passed by and had to pop into the massive 23,000 square foot space to explore the endless aisles of new and used vinyl, 45s, CDs, cassettes, turntables, posters, books and more!

JOSEY RECORDS

Josey opened in 2014 and last year they got the opportunity to expand the space, giving it the title of one of the largest independent record stores in the US, and THE largest in Texas! Whether you’re looking for vintage records to add to your collection or seeking out the new special edition vinyl, you can find just about anything! You can also bring in your old records and CDs and they will buy them from you!

WHAT TO EXPECT

From rows upon rows of new and used vinyl bins to the coolest collection of music posters you could imagine and endless amounts of CDs, you could honestly spend hours wandering the aisles and digging through the crates! There’s even a collection of books, video games and toys…we found this super cool old Beatles illustrated record book among other treasures.

Don’t find what you’re looking for, they will try and special order it for you if they can. They are also always on the hunt for new products so even if you go twice in one week you can expect to find something new each time you go!

ENTERTAINMENT

The expansion has also allowed them to have an in-store performance space where they can host shows and events and of course, house more inventory! Their big event of the year is usually for Record Store Day in April so make sure to check their instagram or website around April 16th to see what in-store events they’ve got going on!

HOURS & LOCATIONS

They are located off Josey Ln and 635 in Farmers Branch and are open Mon-Thurs 10am-9m, Fri-Sat 10am-10pm and Sun 11am-6pm! In addition to their Dallas location, they have since opened in Lubbock, Kansas City and Tulsa!

PS don’t miss the $1-$2 records
