Straight from Hawaii to Frisco, Matcha Cafe Maiko opened its doors earlier this year, and we don’t know why it took us so long to check it out! Ever since opening, lines out the door have been common, but trust us, it’s a must for authentic matcha drinks and treats!

MATCHA CAFE MAIKO
Founded in Honolulu in 2016, Matcha Cafe Maiko has since expanded to 20+ locations across the US, Frisco being their latest home. What makes them special, though? Their matcha is sourced directly from Harima Garden in Uji, Japan, a region famous for producing some of the world’s highest quality matcha since 1858!! This means every sip tastes as close to Kyoto as you’ll get in DFW!
WHAT TO ORDER
The menu features matcha everything, from classic matcha, hojicha teas, frozen desserts, and more. Our favorites include:
🍦 matcha + vanilla swirl soft serve in house-made cones
🍵 the Maiko Special parfait layered with cake, chestnuts, red bean, mochi, and cornflakes
✨ the Golden Shogun soft serve topped with 23.7K gold leaf
🍧 matcha shaved ice + floats

LOCATION & DETAILS
The shop itself is small with a few indoor benches and outdoor tables, but expect a wait, especially on weekends. Matcha fans say it’s worth it, plus it’s really quick service once you’re at the counter!!
