Neighborhood: Casa Linda

About: This cozy spot serves a new menu every week, consisting of elevated takes on home cooking. It’s open for lunch and dinner, plus snacks and drinks served all day, along with a charcuterie ghost kitchen.

The 101: True to its name, Be Home Soon has a homey, nostalgic feel – it’s as if you’re dining in a friend’s house! Definitely try the weekly sandwiches and the classic cocktails. Bo Ssam (Korean-spiced pork shoulder) was on the menu when we visited and it was outstanding!

About: From Vandelay Hospitality, creators of Hudson House, Drakes, and more, comes Bar Sardine, a Parisian-inspired French bistro. The quaint restaurant serves a variety of seafood and classic French dishes, curated by Chef Elliot Azoulay.

The 101: This spot instantly transports you to a night in Paris, with swanky vibes and an impressive wine list! Like other Vandelay concepts, the oysters and dirty martinis are a highlight – try the caviar martini for a boujee twist.

Bucket & Rope

Neighborhood: Farmers Market

Cuisine: New American

About: Housed in a historic building, Bucket and Rope is the brainchild of the teams behind Rubial’s Plant Shop and restauranteur Victor Hugo. The menu features chef-crafted takes on classic American dishes, including sandwiches, salads, and a variety of meat and potato plates.

The 101: The brunch here is truly a standout, perfect for a weekend meal after shopping at the Farmers Market! One aspect we loved is the plant-filled space – from the lush patio to the Rubial’s basil in the drinks. You truly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!

Claremont Dallas

Neighborhood: Preston Hollow

Cuisine: American Bistro

About: Greg Katz’s (of Beverley’s and Clifton Club) new neighborhood bistro has taken over the former Suze space, which operated there for 25 years. Similar to its predecessor, Claremont offers a cozy neighborhood feel, except this time with a Southwest flair both in the decor and on the menu.

The 101: If you’re a fan of Beverley’s, Clifton Club, and Green Point, this spot is a must-try! You’ll find many similar dishes on the menu, along with some new ones – and if you’re a fan of the Beverley’s burger, you’ll love this one. Don’t skip Dean Fearing’s famous tortilla soup, grilled meat options, or wine list either!

About: This new all-day spot is a mixed-use space, featuring a coffee shop, hair salon, and a listening room, open from 7am to 7pm.

The 101: If you're looking to create community, this is your spot! We could seriously hang out here all day, from exploring the vinyl collection to sipping espresso drinks or Pistachio Matcha!

About: The former Wriggly Tin space, which used to be a mechanic’s garage, is turning into a restaurant and brewery: Far-Out and La Hermana Cerveceria. The team behind the project is made up of experienced restauranteurs, mixologists, and brewers.

The 101: We were sad to see Wriggly Tin go, especially with it being in such a cool space -- so we are thrilled it's being put to use again! From cocktails to apps, the menu is great so far and we can't wait to see how it expands!

About: This new tiny bistro seats just 28 people, and the tiny yet mighty menu offers an array of fresh, chef-driven seafood dishes like ceviche, crudo, and oysters. The concept comes from award-winning chef Hugo Galvan and expert mixologist Hugo Osorio.

The 101: This spot is pretty much a seafood lovers paradise, with some of the freshest catch in town. Don’t let the size of the menu or space fool you, the flavors here pack a serious punch! Faves from the menu include lobster bisque, mahi tostadas, and lobster and crab croquettes. It’s perfect for a unique dinner with friends (and a few creative cocktails) or an intimate date night!

About: This new Mediterranean-inspired coffee shop blends minimalism with Moroccan-inspired warmth, serving unique coffee drinks, teas, and sweet and savory bites.

The 101: Stepping inside La Souq immediately feels like you’ve been transported to a peaceful oasis with boho vibes! La Souq’s menu is just as stunning as its space. We tried the Za’atar w Zeit Latte, made with thyme and olive oil and it was truly perfect…so don’t knock it till you try it! Next time we want to try the Fig and Cinnamon Latte or the Aden Gold Rush Latte with cardamom and hot honey.

Little Blue Dallas

About: Little Blue hails from the owner of Fount Board and Table, a quaint coffee shop in the heart of Uptown. Owner Olivia has once again created a charming spot out of an old home, but this time, she swapped the coffee for wine, sandwiches for French bistro dishes, and those cozy green walls for a sexier blue.

The 101: As massive fans of Fount, we couldn’t wait to check this place out, and it did not disappoint. The menu focuses on farm-to-table, sustainable, or local products, ranging from oysters and escargot to pot roast and an incredible wine list. The inside is warm, cozy, and romantic, and the backyard patio is massive!

About: Inside a former Pei Wei comes a modern Chinese restaurant from David Romano (nephew of Phil Romano), serving authentic family recipes like handmade dumplings and noodles. The menu is vast with over two dozen classic Chinese dishes.

The 101: Dim sum is always a good idea -- and MiYa is one of our new faves! Start with the Xiao Long Bao or Pork and Shrimp Shumai, followed by Pork “zha Jiang” Hand-pulled Noodles And Mongolian Beef, and end with Chocolate Bao or Crispy Banana Spring Rolls!

About: This cozy yet contemporary new bistro takes over the former Boulevardier space to provide the Bishop Arts neighborhood with a foodie destination for American fare. It’s headed by Michelin-recognized chef Peja Krstic, who earned a Bib Gourmand for Mot Hai Ba in 2024.

The 101: As huge fans of Mot Hai Ba, we aren’t surprised that this chef-driven spot offers an amazing seasonal menu. If you try anything on the rotating menu, let it be The Nashville Hot Oysters, fried and covered in a hot sauce and topped with relish! And don’t skip dessert, which consists of creations from in-house pastry chef Diana Zamora of Nena Postreria.

About: East Dallas’ newest watering hole is serving up a fresh twist on Texas dive bar classics with epic food, funky retro decor, and 25,000 square feet of space. The bar is a tribute to the founders’ father Stan, one of the original bartenders at the first-ever Chili’s on Greenville Ave, and serves chili at midnight for every customer.

The 101: This spot is as Texan as it gets, and we are obsessed! The highlight here is the patio, which features a central bar, booths, cornhole, beer pong, crawfish boils, and a giant movie screen for game days. We loved all the unique drinks and eats we tried, too!

Thomas Avenue Beverage Co. (TABC)

Neighborhood: State Thomas

Cuisine: American/Bar

About: Located in a 100-year-old building on the corner across from Nodding Donkey, Thomas Ave Beverage Co. is the newest State Thomas neighborhood bar. Many Dallasites may remember the original TABC, which closed in 2013 – only to be revived in 2024 by the team behind Parliament and The Standard Pour.

The 101: We’ve been awaiting this one for a long time and were amazed at how the space has transformed – and even more amazed at the happy hour prices, with the majority of the drinks ringing in at just $5. The menu is simple with elevated bar eats, and the entire restaurant and patio are dog-friendly!

About: This new Mexican wine and cocktail bar is the latest project from the owners of Vinito Shop, serving exceptional wines, agave spirits, and cocktails in a moody setting.

The 101: We are absolutely obsessed with the vibes at Valle! It's the perfect romantic night out with dim lighting and an extensive wine and spirit list. They have amazing unique cocktails, but the Horchata Martini is a must!

About: Overseen by James Beard-nominated Chef Joshua Harmon, Victory Social is located just steps away from American Airlines Center. So far, the space is home to five concepts and a full bar, with both fast casual to full-service dining offered.

The 101: This is our new go-to before attending an event at AAC! There’s truly something for everyone here: coffee and breakfast from Rise & Thyme, American faves from Park Bistro, contemporary Mexican dishes from Itza Cocina, and Italian eats from D’oro Italiano.
