Say hello to Sylvestro, a new cocktail lounge next to its sister spot Urbano Cafe. It just recently opened its doors, but it feels like it’s been there for decades, in a space that’s completely turned the former second room of Urbano into a sophisticated 80s escape!

Sylvestro

Sylvestro takes you back in time to Dallas’s heyday when our skyline was coming together, the Cowboys were America’s Team, and the country was getting to know the city from the hit show.

The most striking feature is the long bar comprised of teal glass-block accents, which exudes that late-80s/early-90s design, but beyond that, gold and geometric lighting, and expressive art adorns the walls.

FROM THE URBANO OWNERS

Sylvestro is the newest project of the Heidari brothers, who also own La Palmas, Mike Gemini, Bowen House, St. Martin’s Bistro, and the connected Urbano Cafe. In fact, while the cocktail menu is unique, the food menu completely mirrors that of Urbano, so now you can pick your poison: romantic Italian restaurant or retro cocktail lounge.

THE COCKTAILS

Given that Bowen House is on the resume, you can expect the drinks to be superb, and they are. Try a Bananas Foster Old Fashioned, Saffron Martinez, Melon Martini, Light Pink Cosmo (perfect for the setting), or a Bergamot Martini, to name a few.

Or if you like Japanese ingredients in your drinks, try the Everything Espresso Martini made with Iichiko Shochu and a drop of soy sauce.

WHEN TO GO

The space that seats 26 people via small tables that line the wall is open alongside Urbano Cafe, aka Tuesday through Saturday from 5pm to 10pm.

BUT stay tuned as both spaces will extend hours til midnight soon. And we may have heard that if the vibes are going strong at Sylvestro, doors will stay open past midnight!
