We finally checked out a spot that has long been on our list, the tiny Outfit Brewing hidden off of 35 in the Medical District! What a fun, dog friendly patio gem!
Updated March 2021
This craft brewery and brew pub opened back in 2018 and is owned and operated by two brothers, who you’ll meet once there. One was serving us beer while the other was running around and occasionally stopping to say hi to his husky. One of the brothers began brewing back in his garage a decade before, then moved up to family gatherings and events to then what would become a full-fledged brewery!
Beers
There are 13 beers on the menu, including light ales, pilsners, “funky & hoppy,” dark ales and IPAs. Our favorite was a hoppy one called Gene, after sampling 2 flights.
Atmosphere
Be prepared to wonder if you’re in the right place at first. There’s no obvious sign on the big wooden wall but don’t be afraid to open the gate to find the brewery and patio. The husky will greet you, and you can actually let your dogs off leash if they behave themselves! The patio is covered with string lights and a warehouse type interior awaits you with games and tables.
Programming
Head there on the second Wednesdays of the month for "Bikes and Brews", or visit the third Wednesdays or second Thursdays of the month to have a beer with the brewer; Mike Frazer. You can also enjoy music there too during their other events! Follow their social media for updates. If you love beer or exploring local, hidden spots, add Outfit to your list for a next patio visit!
