We were exploring Oak Cliff the other week when we were in the mood for some sweet treats. Wanting to try something new, we headed over to Paleteria La Super on West Jefferson, and are so excited to share out this adorable and delicious spot with y’all! Seriously, their ice cream is amazing!

Paleteria La Super

This ice cream parlor opened back in 1996 with locations in Oak Cliff, Plano, Garland, and Fort Worth! Most recently, a second Oak Cliff location, that we visited on W Jefferson, opened just 6 months ago. The family operated chain hand makes all sorts of Mexican treats, plus savory items too! From birria tacos, to chicharrons to mangos topped with chamo and chili, La Super is your one stop shop to snacks any time of the day as they open in the morning and close late at night!

Desserts

The highlight is, of course, the dozens of ice cream flavors from guava to Mexican eggnog to pistachio (incredible) and more! There were so many types of ice cream made from tropical fruits we had never even heard of! There’s a toppings bar too if you want to sprinkle your ice cream cone with chamoy. Or order the churros filled with caramel or one of their many paletas (popsicles).

AGUA FRESCAS

Try the one of the 10+ varieties of agua fresca! They’re all made fresh daily. Horchata, cantaloup, frutas, pineapple, coconut… the list of options goes on, and they’re all so good! You can sample them too if you need help deciding. This spot is a true gem, and the family cares deeply about their homemade products that reflect their heritage!
