If you love grilled cheese, we have exciting news! After years as a grilled-cheese food truck around town, Ruthie's For Good has officially opened a brick-and-mortar location in South Dallas, serving its delicious comfort food from a stunning, multi-use space, all while giving back to the community!
Updated March 2025
RUTHIE'S CAFE
Since opening in 2011, Ruthie’s has been more than just grilled cheese…it’s a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to support underserved and overlooked communities. Now, the new cafe expands that mission by creating an accessible and welcoming space serving healthy food in an area with less access. Plus, all proceeds support St. Philip’s School & Community Center!
SUPPORTING & UPLIFTING THE COMMUNITY
Ruthie’s is also committed to hiring second-chance employees, giving those impacted by the justice system a chance to rebuild. Plus, they partner with local businesses like Tre Stelle Coffee, a Black-owned roaster, and Restorative Farms for fresh, locally grown ingredients!
EXPANDED MENU + WHAT WE GOT
In addition to the timeless classics from Ruthie’s Rolling Cafe (aka the food truck), you’ll find an expanded menu with breakfast dishes, plant-based & gluten-free options, fresh salads, grab-and-go items, craft coffee, and dirty sodas! Here’s everything we tried!
🤠 The iconic “The Boss” with BBQ beef brisket & cheddar
🥣 Sunnyside Power Bowl inspired by the gym next door!
🧀 The Extra Cheesy with American, 2x cheddar & mozz
🌱 Morning Hippie Breakfast Sandwich
☕ Nutella Latte
COMMUNITY SPACE
Ruthie’s Cafe is designed to be a welcoming community hub, offering a bright and inviting space where guests can gather, work, or simply enjoy a meal. The café features local artwork from St. Philip’s students, an expansive back patio sponsored by Dak Prescott’s Faith Fight Finish Foundation, and a rentable private room equipped with a TV for meetings and events!
