The vegan food scene is growing fast in Dallas! We’ve seen it all from plant-based Mexican bites to tasty Thai, but Vegan Food House is bringing vegan Creole cuisine to the table!

Updated March 2022

Vegan Food House opened in 2019 near Bishop Arts! Owner, Elizabeth Anderson, used to work at her sisters’ popular vegan spot, Da Munchies, before opening up her own concept! They are family-owned and operated with a laid back atmosphere and zero fuss vibe, where you order from your phone, and they bring out your food! This local staple serves up 100% plant-based southern cuisine with vegan versions of Creole classics.

VEGAN MENU

Their menu items mainly feature mushrooms and seitan (a wheat meat) as their protein alternatives but also implement cauliflower and jackfruit in some of their dishes! This spot is perfect if you’re looking for hearty comfort food that gives you all the fried food satisfaction without the meat or dairy. The BBQ cauliflower wings taste the same, if not better than their non-vegan counterparts, and they pair perfectly with their house made ranch dressing! They have everything from po’ boys to catfish to fried crab legs and more, and they even have a generous offering of gluten free items!

STEP INSIDE

Vegan Food House sits inside an adorable turquoise house with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. When you walk in, it has a familiar feeling of comfort, just like their food. The wooden walls radiate warmth and their eclectic seating gives it a relaxed feel. Plus, they always have vibey music playing on the speaker to make you feel even more at home. The patio makes you feel like you're sitting out on a southern afternoon with the cutest turquoise umbrellas.

They are located on West 7th, near Bishop Arts! You can stop by Wednesday - Friday from 11:30 AM - 9 PM, Saturday 12-9 PM, and Sunday from 12-7 PM!
