Lunar New Year is the beginning of the calendar year whose months are moon cycles. It falls on January 22nd this year and goes until February 1st, but celebrations have already started and we’ve rounded up all that’s going on!

Updated January 2023

We visited Asia Times Square in Grand Prairie at the start of the Lunar New Year and had a truly incredible time! We felt like we had traveled to Asia to celebrate, where we:
• enjoyed a food market with dozens of vendors spanning many Asian cultures.
• sipped fresh sugar cane juice.
• watched a dragon dance performance by Jiu Long Lion Dance Troupe
•wandered vendors selling traditional toys, clothing and more.

It was a spectacular experience, we highly recommend and it’s coming back each weekend in January! Check out @asiatimessquare on Instagram for their complete programming this month.
