ABILITY CONNECTION

Ability Connection’s mission is to enrich the lives of people with disabilities one person at a time. Ability Connection serves children and adults with disabilities and their families with services that include speech, physical and occupational therapies, education, specialized adult day habilitation, assistive technology, transportation, residential care, information and referral, nursing care and case management. Their impact and training centers support individuals with significant disabilities such as cerebral palsy, quadriplegia, and other acute intellectual and physical disabilities.

They had to close their therapy centers to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and have adapted their procedures at their group homes to serve their clients as safely as possible. For clients who don't live in the group home, they are helping families coordinate therapies to maintain gains and prevent regression.

The Training Center Program provides essential specialized therapies, life skills, social inclusion, and integration to ensure clients maintain healthy and more independent lives. They need continued funding to support increased staffing needs including personal protective equipment to maintain services for their 250 clients at the group homes and to support on-site and virtual programming for 700+ clients.
