THE 2024 TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE
On April 8th, 2024, the moon will pass between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the sun. It can be viewed all over North America, and Dallas will be located directly within the path of totality! The partial eclipse will last from 12:23pm to 3:02pm, reaching totality from 1:40pm to 1:44pm. This will be the last time Dallas is in the path of totality until 2317!
Safety tip: be sure to wear protective viewing glasses! Looking directly into the sun can damage your eyes, and it’s especially dangerous during the eclipse. Many events around town will have them for free, or you can purchase them online!
