Allgood Cafe is the type of place that you must visit at one point in your Dallas life. A decades old spot, here you’ll find breakfast served til 3, amazing chicken fried steak, and a lively music scene. Located away from the hustle and bustle of Deep Ellum, it’s frequented by the people who know and love the establishment!

Updated February 2021

It opened in the 2000’s by owner Mike Snider, who was deeply involved in the Deep Ellum music scene, so it’s no surprise upon walking in that you’ll see music posters all around the restaurant. At the end of the space, there’s even a stage where artists play regularly. There are also red diner-style barstools, origami swans falling from the ceiling, and an all around casual, eclectic atmosphere.

The Food

Expect Texas diner food like chili, frito pie, nachos, and more. There’s an expansive list of sandwiches and salads, plus the “World’s Best” chicken-fried steak. Breakfast is served until 3 PM, so you have more time to try the chicken fried steak with eggs or the big fluffy buttermilk pancakes.

Happy Hour

Stop by Tuesday-Friday from 4-7 PM for beers starting at $2, wine starting at $6, and $7 cocktails, including a margarita and “branch” water.

Music

Head over for a laid back evening on Friday's and Saturday’s to enjoy free live music at 7 PM! You can find the lineup on the website
