Upscale & chic Mexico City dining has arrived in Dallas in the former of a new glitzy restaurant in the Design District called The Mexican!

THE MEXICAN

The Mexican is the creation of a Monterrey businessman aiming to bring us a “modern, cosmopolitan touch to traditional Mexican cuisine.” It’s a multi-million dollar 15,000 sq ft project that has yielded one stunning and luxurious space for cocktails, tequila tastings, private dinners, cigars and incredible Mexican fare!

THE SPACE

Right down the street from The Virgin Hotel in an unassuming space, walk in to a space gleaming with gold. Find Mexican tilework, an illuminated bar, chic velvet furniture and booths, and a tequila cabinet on the back wall filled with over 300 options.

DINING ROOMS

And that’s just the first room! On the right, there’s a smaller and more airy dining room with a beautiful floral painting across the entire wall. And on the left, is the main dining room, inspired by the chicest neighborhood in Mexico City, Polanco. 
 

TWO PATIOS

There are two beautiful private rooms, a patio that comes to life with bright turquoise seating, and a truly show stopping cigar room with gorgeous wood work, blue accents and a fresh, modern take on the traditionally dark and heavy space.

FOOD & DRINK

Cue the inventive margaritas (one is $250!!) and tequila tastings headed by an in-house “tequila sommelier.” For food, enjoy filet & bone marrow tacos, a sea bass that was divine, four types of enchiladas, many different elevated tacos or a list of beautiful meats and seafoods to choose from.

Reservations can now be made on Resy, and we highly recommend booking a table. The attention to detail is second to none, the integration of Mexican artwork and design is very well done, and of course, the vibes and food are on point!
