Say yassou to the absolutely stunning Avra Dallas, that officially opens on September 19th in Uptown! This Greek restaurant hails from NYC, and now is landing at the Crescent. We just checked it out during its soft opening and expectations were exceeded!

AVRA
Originally founded in 2000 on 48th St in Manhattan, co-founder Nick Tsoulous mixed the cuisine of the coastal Greek town of Nafpaktos with the chic, upscale atmosphere of NYC. And now he’s bringing that to Dallas, at The Crescent in the corner lot on the opposite end of Moxie.

AN UPSCALE SPOT
Dallas may have a lot of new upscale spots, but we have to say, this one is beautifully done! Very tasteful - a nice mix of modern, light woods with Mediterranean touches, darker on the inside and lighter on the coveted patios that wrap the exterior of the restaurant. Complete with rattan lighting and plants, the space is delightful!
FLOWN IN DAILY FROM THE MEDITERRANEAN
A not-to-miss section of the restaurant: the fresh market at the very end of the space. Find the daily fish and seafood displayed in a sea, and anything you see, you can order to enjoy fresh that evening! And per the headline, some of the fish is flown in from all over, including the Mediterranean! We enjoyed a delicious sea salt-crusted branzino!
AND MORE GREEK EATS
The menu focuses on elevated, Greek dishes. Start with Saganaki, grilled halloumi, classic spreads, and their famous Avra chips, aka fried zucchini and eggplant chips with tzatziki. We also loved the Grilled Octopus salad!
Moving on, we highly recommend choosing a fish to share and completing the meal with linguine with clams, lobster pasta, or lamb chops.
P.S. You can order a side of Moussaka to complete your entree stack!
GRAND OPENING & LOCATION
Right now, Avra is soft-opened and officially celebrates its grand opening on Friday, September 19th! Find a table on Resy or walk in and grab a spot at their bar. They’ll be open daily starting at 4pm.
