The brother-sister duo behind Berni Bean comes from a family with 150+ years of experience in the coffee industry, in Costa Rica! They produce the highest-grade coffee on the market, which is grown in the Central American country. They specialty coffee scores over the minimum 80 out of 100 points possible, highlighting just how balanced and rich their coffee is!
The siblings put their backgrounds in food and creativity together to create a coffee shop that showcases the family’s beans while also showing off their country to Dallasites! Walk in to find a stunning rainforest mural that spans the length of the back wall and tropical decor all around, making for one very Instagrammable coffee shop! And 1% of all purchases go back to support the Costa Rican rainforest!
The Drinks & Food
Their signature cup of coffee is their spiced vanilla latte — it was so good! You can order coffee a variety of other ways, but they also have tea, matcha, and smoothies. Pair your drink with pastries, a granola bowl, the quiche of the day or one of three specialty toasts including avocado and Nutella. The avocado toast was delicious, came with an egg on top and was only $5.50!!
The Community
They’re putting the final details on their space, but you’ll notice a stage on the back wall, so in the future expect musicians performing, vendors showcasing their work, magicians showing off magic tricks and more! And on the walls, you’ll see art by local Costa Rican artists to buy!
