When it’s 100 degrees outside, we all scream for ice cream! Dallas is definitely not short on ice cream shops and we’ve rounded up our favorites from regular soft serve, to ice cream in a donut, to sundaes, shakes and more…to enjoy during this heat wave, or anytime of year!
PARLOR’S ICE CREAM
One of the newest spots on the list, owners and makers, Kellie and Brandon, use as many organic and sustainable ingredients from Dallas area as possible, and the ice creams are 100% grass-fed milk and use pasture-raised eggs! They even source, mix, age, pasteurize and freeze themselves so they oversee every part of the process to uphold their quality standards.
Along with their popular best sellers like Milk & Cookies made with local baked chocolate chip cookies, Salted Caramel with house-made caramel and Horchata (think Cinnamon Toast Crunch without the crunch!), there are seasonal flavors, too. You’ll find Parlor’s and their mobile cart at Saint Michael's Farmers Market on Saturdays and the Dallas Farmers Market on Sundays, pop-ups, and events, just make sure to check their IG for their location updates.
Why get just ice cream, when you can get ice cream…in between two cookies!! Family owned Pokey O’s has been serving up its famous cookie ice cream sandwiches for more than 14 years, and have more than 8 cookie choices to choose from to sandwich your favorite Blue Bell ice cream flavor. You can add toppings to your order and at the Dallas location, they sell ice cream tacos! Pokey' O’s also has a food truck and you can check their IG for locations.
