Updated April 2021
With summer approaching, we all scream for ice cream! Dallas is definitely not short on ice cream shops, and we’ve rounded up our favorites from regular soft serve, to ice cream in a donut, to sundaes, shakes and more…to enjoy during the warm weather or any other day! Because who really needs an excuse to have ice cream?!
As the newest ice cream shop on the list, the opening of Jeni's in early 2021 is nothing to be quiet about! The Ohio based company has over 40 'scoop shops' nationwide and prides itself on its ice cream's uniquely smooth texture and buttercream body. Their one-of-a-kind flavors are available in pints at local grocery stores such as Foxtrot Market, Royal Blue, Whole Foods and Central market, but we strongly recommend visiting their store in Deep Ellum with the classic Jeni's Ice Cream light bulb sign above the door for you Instagram moment!

PARLOR’S ICE CREAM
Owners and makers, Kellie and Brandon, use as many organic and sustainable ingredients from the Dallas area as possible, and the ice creams are 100% grass-fed milk and use pasture-raised eggs! They even source, mix, age, pasteurize and freeze themselves, so they oversee every part of the process to uphold their quality standards.
Along with their popular best sellers like Milk & Cookies made with local baked chocolate chip cookies, Salted Caramel with house-made caramel and Horchata (think Cinnamon Toast Crunch without the crunch!), there are seasonal flavors, too. You’ll find Parlor’s occasionally at The Shed at the Dallas Farmers Market and popping up at local businesses Friday through Sunday. Stay tuned to their Instagram to see where they'll be next!

COW TIPPING CREAMERY
Cow Tipping Creamery began actually in Austin as a food truck, but the owner of Cane Rosso and Zoli’s loved it so much, he wanted to bring it to Dallas! He did just that several years ago when it opened in East Dallas. That location has since closed, but they are open in Frisco and Fort Worth!
Their ice cream is simple, but their creations are not. You choose between vanilla, chocolate or the weekly special soft serve ice cream and then add on all the toppings from caramel to marshmallows to brownies to lemon curd and more! Or you can choose from a pre-made cone including the Southern Charm, At the Ritz, Reese’s Witha'spoon, and more! You can even make any of their creations into a milkshake, and they offer dipped soft serve too!
