A lot of native Dallasites already may know about the beloved Angela’s Cafe in the Park Cities off of Lovers Lane…and if you aren’t familiar, it’s an adorable, no-frills diner serving a great breakfast.
And as of last year, they are now home to a retro coffee shop, Cafe Xica!
Updated March 2025
CAFE XICA
Tucked inside the front of the cafe, Cafe Xica is a pop-up coffee shop that brings a bold, colorful energy to the old-school cafe. Hispanic-owned and run by the nephew of Angela’s Cafe’s owner, this hidden gem has a cozy, retro vibe…just look for the orange walls, vintage TV, and lush greenery that contrasts with the cream walls of the rest of the diner.
LATIN-INSPIRED DRINKS WITH A TWIST
The menu features coffee creations with Latin flavors, like the signature Cafe Xica Latte, a warm blend of brown sugar, cinnamon, and spices with oat milk, or the Mexican Mocha, a rich mix of chocolate with an optional spicy kick!
LOOK OUT FOR SEASONAL SPECIALS
Seasonal specials bring even more creativity, with past offerings including guava chais, calabacita lattes and sweet corn cold foam matcha.
ANGELA’S CAFE…A TRUE HIDDEN GEM
If you are one of those not familiar with Angela’s, it’s been serving homestyle Mexican-American food for decades. There’s no social media, and almost no press, yet it’s always packed on weekends. Locals love the pancakes, but we recommend trying the chilaquiles!
