CHAPARRAL NEEDLEWORK

Chaparral first opened in 1962 in Houston, creating a needlework community through classes. And four owners and 58 years later, the current owner Heidi, who was a long-standing customer herself, took the reins to continue that community. And she moved the store to Dallas, right by Love Field!

THE CONCEPT

The Chaparral store is a shop, workshop space, and DIY paradise! Stop by with your own canvas and the team will help you pull threads to match your project and then come back for “finishing” aka applying your project to one of many items from stockings to pillows to totes and more!

Or shop hand painted canvases from designers across the country, and browse threads, accessories and books. If you’re just getting started, pick up a beginners kit - Chaparral will help you however you need it. They’re so sweet and knowledgeable!!

CLASSES

Beginning THIS week, Chaparral is launching needlework classes, whether you’ve never stitched in your life and want to learn or need to refine your skill. The all-level two-hour will take place Tuesdays at 10am, Wednesday 5pm and Saturday at 10am, $20 per person! You can sign up by emailing chaparral@NDLPT.com!

CHECK IT OUT

So head over to Chaparral to check it out - the store is adorable and the needlepoint itself is really relaxing. Plus you get a piece of art out of it, for yourself or as a gift! And if you’re thinking that stitching is just for older people, Heidi assured us that a lot of young people come in to enjoy the craft!
