Calling all elote cornoisseurs! You need to try Locura ASAP! We recently visited the West Dallas takeout joint to pick up some delicious street corn and other savory small bites, and it was incredible!

LOCURA

Locura Small Bites opened early last year in the former Trompo taqueria location just past Trinity Groves in West Dallas. Don’t be discouraged by the outside as the building is currently under construction and is operating only as pickup and delivery. Owned by 2 female chefs, Locura has reinvented the elote scene. And even cooler?! The women were crowned National Champions of World Karaoke in 2019!

11 TYPES OF ELOTES

Served as corn on the cob or in a cup, find Mexican street corn concoctions with ingredients including ranch Doritos, Takis, Za’atar spice, truffle, lemon pepper wing sauce, pesto, and strawberry Thai chili (which was surprisingly our favorite)! We can’t wait to go back for the seasonal flavor with Watermelon and pickled Jalapeños. If you’re not feeling adventurous, they also make a traditional elote!

MEAT & VEGGIE OPTIONS

If you’re looking to complete your meal, Locura offers small bites like quesadillas, tacos, Frito pie, shishito peppers, and amazing Locura fries smothered in a pork and gravy sauce.

FOR DESSERT

We couldn’t resist trying the pinkie pie - a mini frozen pink lemonade pie for $2! The perfect bite-size snack to satisfy your sweet tooth after all the savory spices!

So next time you’re in need of an afternoon pick-me-up, head to Locura! It’s open Tuesday-Sunday from 11 AM - 8 PM and is as divine as it is creative. There’s a reason no one has yet given them fewer than 5 stars on Google!
