Trinity River Audubon Center

The Trinity River Audubon Center is the largest urban hardwood forest in the U.S., and is your getaway to explore the 6,000-acre Great Trinity Forest. Located on a former illegal dump site, the center is now a reclaimed haven for a diverse group of plant and animal species. The 130 acre property has a unique mixture of bottomland hardwood forest, wetland, and prairie habitat.

As part of the National Audubon Society, Trinity River Audubon Center is a nonprofit organization serving North Texas. Thousands of North Texas students are educated at the Center each year on conservation, science, and the ecosystems around DFW!

The Audubon Center and trails are open Wednesday through Friday from 9am until 3pm and Saturday and Sunday from  8am until 3pm. Advance ticket purchases are required. Ticket prices are $3 for children, $4 for seniors and veterans, and $6 for adults. Bring a water bottle, comfortable shoes, and be ready to take in some beautiful nature! Don’t forget to check out the Nature Store for souvenirs, educational books, and more.

Get involved all year round! Volunteer one time, as an ongoing commitment, or with a group. Help the Center with tasks like habitat conservation, educational programming, administration, and more.

Songbird Supper

The annual Songbird Supper is returning Sunday, October 9th, 2022! This stunning dinner party takes place in the property’s prairie for an elegant evening among nature. Kicking off the event at 5pm, is a cocktail hour at the Great Hall to set the scene, while also getting a chance to learn about the center itself from its indoor exhibits. Then, you’ll head outside into the prairie for a beautiful dinner, featuring Chef Justo Blanco. You’ll be seated while the sun is still out to enjoy the golden surroundings and lake below, but get to watch as the sun sets. This breathtaking event also coincides with fall bird migration and the full moon!

Continue the fun under the praise moon at the after-party. Night owl prowl guided hikes will also be offered, all with the Great Trinity Forest as your backdrop!

An individual ticket starts at $200 or you can also choose to sponsor the event where you’ll get access to private takeaways and VIP tickets! Most importantly, both your sponsorship and ticket purchase support the center's educational and conservation mission!

If you can’t make the Songbird Supper, the Center features numerous monthly events beyond! Beautiful guided hikes on the second Saturday of every month are a great way to see the trails and learn from experts. Morning bird walks on the third Saturday of every month are the best way to see all the different species!
