When summer hits, nothings better than a fresh Texas peach, whether in its original form or mixed into a sweet treat creation, and we knew just the place to find that! Forty five minutes east of Dallas sits the famous Ham Orchards, a family-owned farm known for all things peaches!

Established in 1979 just east of Terrell, Ham Orchards is a 100-acre property with 5 orchards including a whopping 10,000 peach trees! They also grow blackberries, strawberries, nectarines, and more. Over the years it has increased in popularity by people from all over the state, and has grown into not only an orchard, but also a market with homemade ice cream and barbecue joint!

The Market

Step inside the cutest little mom & pop shop filled with homemade goodies made straight from the orchard! You’ll be impressed with the variety of jams, pies, pecans, hot sauces (peach flavored too), and their famous fudge. The standout items to us were the peach tea and peach salsa!

BBQ & ICE CREAM

After you do some shopping, head outside to the walk-up bbq joint and find a picnic table in the shade to feast on brisket sandwiches with peach pickles or peach pulled pork. For dessert, enjoy their signature peach, strawberry, or swirl soft serve and don’t forget to take a pint home!

ORCHARD PICKING

Of course, you can also pick your very own fruits from the orchard! Although you can only purchase peaches and not pick them, you can pick from blackberries. Just purchase a $3 bucket and get to picking!

HOURS

The orchard is open mid May through August, Monday-Saturday from 9-5pm. It’s important to note its closed on Sundays! Follow Ham Orchards on IG and FB for the most up-to-date news, since they sometimes close due to heat indexes!
