SHADY VILLA HOTEL

The history of Shady Villa dates back to the mid-1800s when it was first built as a rest stop along the famous Chisholm Trail under the name of the Stagecoach Inn. It’s thought to be the oldest surviving structure in Salado and is one of the oldest hotels in Texas! It officially became a hotel in 1943 and since been listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is also a recorded Texas historic landmark!

Last year the Bunkhouse group who is behind some of our favorite boutique hotels in Texas including Hotel San Jose and the Austin Motel, renovated the hotel and took over as new management. Everything the Bunkhouse group touches turns to gold and the Shady Villa is no exception!
