Looking for an outdoor adventure, but don't want to weather the elements outside? Try glamping, a glamorous form of camping where you can enjoy upscale amenities and the outdoors at the same time. From tents and tree houses to yurts and domes, explore some of the best glamping spots in Texas, including one of our favorites, Onera in Fredericksburg!

Updated February 2024

Tucked away in Texas Wine Country and just minutes from Main Street Fredericksburg, Onera is the perfect combination of luxury and nature! You’ll enjoy amazing amenities like a sauna and hot tub, hammocks and swings to relax in, and fire pits to cozy up around. You can even book experiences like spa treatments, a private chef, and more. Don’t be surprised if you see some wildlife roaming around the property – it was one of the coolest parts of our stay!

We recently visited and were blown away by the entire property, which features 11 different units to stay in. Each unit is unique, so there’s truly something for everyone! Explore them below:

Monarch Onera

Elevated on a massive oak tree, Monarch is a stunning luxury treehouse! It features a yoga deck, a hammock loft with a skylight, and an adorable kitchen. Our favorite part was the floor-to-ceiling windows, which let in tons of light during the day and were also great for stargazing at night. It has plenty of space and is perfect for a weekend getaway with a few friends! (Featured header image)

This converted shipping container is perfect for a small group, featuring two bedrooms, a massive rooftop deck, and outdoor dining space, plus a private fire pit, plunge pool, and heated soaking tub. Most of the features in the unit are ADA-accessible too!

Find all the African safari vibes, right here in Texas! This two-bedroom modern tent features a canvas roof, floor-to-ceiling windows, and temperature control, so you’ll get the camping experience without braving the elements.

Spyglass Onera

If you’re looking for a romantic escape, Spyglass is for you! It’s shaped like a looking glass, featuring gorgeous views and private decks on both ends of the unit. Relax and take in the beautiful views from the soaking tub, or even the shower – which you can see outside from!

Domes are one of the most popular ways to glamp, and Onera has you covered with the gorgeous Lantana Dome! The mosaic of windows is perfect for stargazing the night skies above Hill Country – fun fact, Fredericksburg is a Dark Sky Community, meaning the entire town takes measures to prevent light pollution. It makes for some seriously breathtaking views of the stars!

This quaint bungalow is a luxury yurt, combining canvas walls with floor-to-ceiling windows. It features a wraparound deck, temperature control, and a hand-carved rock tub perfect for taking a dip! With its indoor-outdoor vibe, you’ll practically feel like you’re sleeping in the wild (without having to worry about any critters).

This mini cabin is cozy and just the right size for a couple's retreat into nature! Relax and unwind on the rooftop deck, make smores by the private fire, or watch the wildlife without leaving your bed!

Walnut House Onera

If you love to soak up the sun, you’ll pretty much be able to do that wherever you are at Walnut House! This stunning unit features a massive deck and rooftop, plus a full wall of windows that let the rays shine throughout the interior. Take a quick walk on the trail next to it to see deer, turkeys, and more along the nearby creek!

This modern cabin features a bright and airy interior that almost feels like you’re somewhere in Europe! With windows on three of the four walls, you’ll feel instantly connected to the roaming wildlife and fully immersed in nature – what better way to unplug and unwind?!

This adorable cabin-meets-shipping container features glass French doors that open out, so you can easily enjoy the perfect combination of outdoor and indoor vibes. It comes equipped with an outdoor dining area, rooftop yoga deck, and private outdoor tub.

So, book your trip to Onera Fredericksburg for a relaxing escape, and stay tuned for Onera Wimberley coming soon! The property will feature 28 gorgeous units, each featuring private cedar soaking tubs. Visitors can also enjoy an event space, a stunning infinity pool, and some of the most amazing sunset views in the Texas Hill Country!
