For the second time this year, we headed up to Frisco where we had one of the best dining experiences we’ve had to date in the metroplex, thanks to Kinzo!

KINZO

From a Nobu-trained chef, Leo Kekoa, comes an intimate edema-style sushi experience…with a French twist! It opened in Frisco at the end of 2022 and has quietly become one of the best Japanese omakase restaurants in the metroplex.

RESY RECOGNITION

But its quiet climb as a foodie destination for high quality and innovative Japanese fare will be no longer, as Resy, put it on its list of 19 Restaurants That Defined Dining in America in 2023! It also made the “10 Restaurants that Defined Dallas Dining this Year,” both for bringing high-end sushi to an unassuming neighborhood, outside an obvious downtown hub home.

OMAKASE

19 courses at $185 per person, and there are just two seatings per night, Tuesday through Sunday. Fish is flown in from Toyosu Market in Tokyo, and combines incredibly fresh and high-quality fish with inspiration from Chef Leo’s home state of Hawaii. Leo’s creations are truly mind-blowing, and even after 19 bites, you’ll be wanting more!

A LA CARTE

What’s great about Kinzo, is if you can’t snatch a reservation for omakase (they release on a rolling 30-day basis at 10 am), or want a more affordable option while still trying the insane nigiri, cold or hot tastings, yakitori, and other plates, you can make a reservation to dine a la carte! So a huge congrats to Kinzo for making it to number one on Resy’s list, it’s so well deserved!
