Fountain takes a new meaning at Klyde Warren Park as they have just opened their hydro-technical feat meets fun splash pad for the public! Officially called the Nancy Best Fountain, it brings to life an interactive and immersive fountain with a nightly show that plays to the beat of the accompanying music!
Updated 2022
ABOUT
Announced in 2020, the fountain was funded privately by Nancy Best who wanted to bring a state-of-the-art feature to Dallas while also giving it something fun, free and public for children, and adults, to enjoy.
THE DETAILS
The fountain is one-part a 5,000 sq ft splash pad for kids to run around in daily from 8am-10pm. In fact, it can fit hundreds of kids at one time. It’s also another-part art installation, featuring three 15-foot steel sculptures at the center where the streams shoot out and dance around to different lights and songs.
There’s also 14 “bubblers” aka mini fountains and 106 other, smaller streams surrounding the three centerpieces.
THE TALLEST IN THE WORLD
The jets used shoot straight up into the sky, and the water can go as high as 100 feet. That makes it the tallest interactive fountain in the world!
THE SHOW
Stop by the fountain each night at sunset for a choreographed light, water and music show, all working together for a fireworks-like experience. It lasts 30-45 minutes and the music and “acts” will change up. It really was very impressive and we loved staying through the whole performance to see how the fountain, and show, evolves as the sunsets.
PS kids can continue to play during the show!
OTHER NEW PARK FEATURES
The Nancy Best Fountain was one of three privately funded additions, or renovations, to the park in celebration of its 10th year anniversary. A new dog park debuted earlier this year and the children’s park is currently being expanded by 6,000 sq ft!
