This spot has been on our list for a long time, as we’d heard you can find some of the best Thai in Dallas, at this tiny Oak Cliff market. We finally made it last week and can confirm that it more than lives up to the hype!

LY FOOD MARKET

After relocating from LA, the sweetest Thai owner/chef opened Ly Food Market 12 years ago. Located in a shopping center in the Cockrell Hill neighborhood of Oak Cliff, it’s 1/2 Thai market and 1/2 Thai and Laotian restaurant!

MENU

Man oh man is this food good! Some standouts on the menu include:

• the pho…some of the best we’ve had, and garnished with homemade chili oil

• Pad Thai, giving the perfect amount of sauce-to-noodle ratio

• Pad Kee Maw…with all the jalapeños if you like a little 🌶️

• Lao-style papaya salad, with a side of sticky rice and sausage to pair

• Spring rolls, the peanut sauce is 🤌

DON’T FORGET BOBA

This isn’t your typical boba, it’s slushy boba! More of a dessert, it comes out at the end of your dining journey, and uses HOMEMADE tapioca pearls!

PRICES & PORTIONS

Not only is the food unbelievably good, but the prices are really affordable, and portions, huge! We spent $45 on three entrees, a boba slushie, and appetizer, all of which we took to-go for second meals later!

HOURS

Open Tuesday through Sunday from 10am to 2:30pm and again from 3:30pm to 7pm.

FINDING IT

Depending on where you live, Ly could be a bit of a drive but it is SO. WORTH. IT! Find it at 4440 W Illinois Ave at the far side of a strip mall closest to S. Cockrell Hill Rd.
