Right before Thanksgiving, North Texas showed up big for one of the most heartfelt community events of the season: the Tarrant Area Mega Mobile Market. Hosted at AT&T Stadium, this massive drive-thru food distribution brought together the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, the Cotton Bowl Foundation, and the Tarrant Area Food Bank — plus an army of volunteers — to help local families head into the holiday with a full table. And even with steady rain (and a lightning delay!), the vibes stayed great.

MEGA MOBILE MARKET
The Mega Mobile Market is an annual tradition, offering free Thanksgiving meal boxes to anyone in need. Families simply drive up, pop their trunk, and head home with everything they need for the holiday.
This year’s impact was huge:
-
4,700 families served
-
376,000 pounds of food distributed
-
313,333 meals provided
-
Each family received about 80 pounds of food, including a turkey or chickens, fresh produce, and classic holiday staples like potatoes, cabbage, carrots, and cornbread dressing.
It’s one of the biggest food distribution days of the year in North Texas, and it just keeps on growing!

Partners & Volunteers
A major reason this event runs so smoothly every year is the amazing community behind it!
- Alongside the Cotton Bowl Classic and TAFB, partners like AT&T Stadium, the Dallas Cowboys, American Airlines, MW Cares Foundation, MW Logistics, and Albertsons/Tom Thumb helped support and source food.
- Plus, nearly 500 volunteers, including 300 American Airlines team members, Cotton Bowl staff, UFL players, and local organizations, worked the lines, loaded food, directed cars, and kept everything moving (even after a 75-minute lightning break).
- The Arlington Police and Fire departments also handled onsite logistics and safety.
- Volunteers were fueled by Raising Cane’s (shoutout to the Cotton Bowl Classic for providing lunch!), water from TAFB, and snacks from TicketEStore.
Helping people in need
With increased need this year, worsened by the government shutdown and a pause on SNAP benefits, partners stepped up big time!
-
The Cotton Bowl Foundation and American Airlines doubled their annual donation to $50,000, providing 250,000 meals.
-
The MW Cares Foundation donated $50,000.
-
Tarrant County Commissioners Court contributed $100,000.
This support will help TAFB continue providing over one million meals each week across its 13-county service area.
A Six-Year Tradition of Giving Back
This Thanksgiving marked the sixth straight year that the Cotton Bowl Classic and TAFB teamed up for this holiday market, and the seventh major mobile distribution they’ve hosted together at AT&T Stadium.
Over the years, these events have now served 33,746 families!
