We recently discovered Mentiiras while exploring Bishop Arts, and it’s the perfect spot for delicious Mexican street snacks to satisfy an afternoon craving (or an “antojito”). But it also has the sweetest story behind it, with one very passionate owner!

MENTIIRAS
What makes this spot special is the owner Luis Martinez’s story and passions. His lifelong dream is to become the first Hispanic filmmaker from Oak Cliff to win an Oscar, and while he’s currently paused in pursuing that dream, he is right now focused on bringing Dallas a taste of Mexico!
FUN FACT
Fun fact: The name “Mentiiras” is a playful twist on the Spanish word for “lies”- a nod to those moments when someone claims they don’t want a snack, only to end up eating half of yours!
WHAT TO TRY
Start with their elotes, served in a cup with a Cheetos or Takis topping if you’re feeling extra. Or indulge in something sweet like their fresas con crema, strawberries topped with homemade whipped cream. Don’t miss their refreshing mangonada or their customizable aguas frescas, available frosted!!
WHAT WE ORDERED
🌽 Takiilote: elote with takis
🥭 Mangonada / Sandiiloca
🥞 Mini Pancakes
DETAILS
Find Mentiiras in Bishop Arts across from Hola Cafe and next to Chasen Matcha Bar. They’re open daily, so swing by and treat yourself to some antojitos that’ll keep you coming back for more!
