MODEST ROGERS

Formally known as Mo’s Plancha pop-up, Modest Rogers is family-owned and operated by chef, Modesto Rodriguez, (hence the name) and his wife Kathryn. Their first concept grew in popularity around Dallas for showcasing South American cuisine, and in 2021 they opened their own restaurant, meant to emulate walking into someone’s home.

MENU

Chef Modesto hopes to blend the dishes of his childhood in Venezuela with more modern dishes that he has encountered since moving to Texas! And there’s a heavy emphasis on seasonal, fresh ingredients. The dishes range in complexity from a unique take on a classic cheeseburger to charred octopus! For all you meat lovers, the most popular dish is the Carne Asada that features Wagyu beef steak topped with homemade chimichurri and is served with salad and potatoes. They also offer a variety of shared plates and sandwich variations alongside signature entrees! Don’t miss out on dessert, their Venezuelan flan is sublime!

SPACE

The quaint, house-like spot is located off of Fairmont in Oak Lawn and intimately seats 24. Enjoy a cozy fireplace during the colder months or one of the two patios with string lights and plant life that will transport you to Venezuela! Inside, they highlight an open kitchen concept, so you can see your food being prepared and feel more connected to the space! They also have bar seating now, where you can grab a barstool and order a drink as they just started serving wine! They don't take reservations, so make your plans now for dinner Tuesday-Saturday or for lunch Thursday or Friday!
