NAMINOHANA

Naminohana is simple and no-frills, yet it serves some of the best sushi in Dallas, rivaling the spots that book months in advance and charge hundreds for an omakase experience. Founded by a former chef from Hatsuyuki in Fort Worth (also known for some of the best sushi in the metroplex), Naminohana follows a similar setup with bar-only seating and a chalkboard full of daily specials.

TAKE A PHOTO OF THE CHALKBOARD

While you can order hand rolls from the menu, it’s really all about the chalkboard specials, featuring dozens of nigiri and sashimi options. On Tuesdays, fresh tuna is flown in, making it the best day for tuna cuts, and on Thursdays, they offer exotic fish. No matter when you visit, the fish is flown in daily and is of the utmost quality.

THE MUST-TRY ITEMS

Bluefin Tuna – There are typically several cuts on the menu, with the Chutoro as a must-try recommendation from the staff. You can also try toro with scallop or wagyu for a truly decadent experience.

Sea Urchin – If you’re an uni lover, try it paired with ikura (roe) and quail egg, or alongside salmon belly and toro. There are so many unique combinations to explore!

Specialty Nigiri – The Gindara (black cod), salmon belly, and fresh Hokkaido scallop are all melt-in-your-mouth bites. And with salmon belly priced at only $3.25, it’s one of the best deals on the menu—you’ll want to order several!

Specialty Sashimi – We recommend the Hamachili (yellowtail) or Kanpachili (amberjack) with Korean pear and spicy ponzu—chef’s kiss!
